Remember that if you read on website selling real estate (Right, Mr. Bill?), or travel to Mexico services, that it is safer here than any place on Earth, that you should see red flags!

I have received numerous emails from wannabe tourists and expats if they can park their cars in the Guanajuato tunnels? My first impression is always, "why would you want to," but I resist saying that.

In the Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 issue of El Correo, Ivan Rodriguez reports:

"Between 4 and 8 vehicles are stolen every week in whole or in part only in the downtown tunnels in Guanajuato... The underground street has become one of the most insecure of the capital." -- Source

Witnesses to this problem tell of how though there are security police and cameras in the tunnels they are useless.

So, there's our answer. Park in the tunnels at your own risk!
