Guanajuato, Mexico -- Paradise Lost

I've written extensively about how Gringos come to Mexico to live looking for a real, honest to God, sinless paradise. They reason that Mexico cannot possibly have the crime that exists in the U.S.A., totally ignoring the viciousness of the Narcos when the chop the heads off of those opposing them.

Regardless, those who have moved, and are moving, to the Central Mexican town of Guanajuato, Guanajuato seem particularly stricken with what has to be some sort of mental illness wherein they become convinced that there is only good and righteous people here who all wear white hats and who always triumph over evil.

Gringolandians in Guanajuato seem to be forging their enclave in a little municipality called "Marfil." Here is what happened in Marfil on Monday, 2/9/2010:

Three men, one armed, entered a pharmacy in Marfil and relieved the two employees there of more than twenty-thousand pesos and cell phone cards. There was also a customer there during the robbery.

No one was hurt and the thugs took off with the loot.

After escaping from the bathroom in which the victims were locked, the police were called.

The whole operation took three minutes.

This time, the police caught the thieves.

So, I guess I am wondering just how the "all is good and righteous where nothing bad could possibly happen" Gringolandians can explain this?

When the U.S. economy crashed and thousands of jobless Mexicans returned to Mexico, experts were predicting a rise in crime rate. I wrote about it, (I was hated by Mr. Bill), and yet, HERE IT IS!
