We sometimes go there just to get out of Guanajuato for a weekend. The food is good, the hotel we stay at is GREAT, and the ice cream is renowned.
Well, the route we take is not so lovely anymore. The innocence is gone. It is not safe to travel there now.
Highway robbers robbed a bus line, the one we alway take, between Dolores and Guanajuato.
The bus was in route to Guanajuato when robbers, who were on board, made their move.
They got away, of course, with money, jewelry, cash, and cell phones.
The incident was reported, the police were waiting at the Guanajuato bus station when the bus finally arrived, a search ensued, no captures--figures. (Story Source)
