Guanajauato, Mexico -- What Would You say?

If you decided to come to Guanajuato for a little vacation and all you read is that Guanajuato is full of goodness and light, where no crime ever happens, and it would be like heaven itself then you became a crime victim...WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

If you decided to come to Guanajuato for a little vacation and you read that Guanajuato is just a nice place to visit, no a heaven or Shangra-La, and that just like in any city of the world you have to take care and not commit risky behaviors.

Yet...

Gringos will say things to us like, "We walked back to our B & B at two in the morning and nothing at all happened." Or, "Crime here in GTO is nothing but petty crime." Or, "This place is absolutely safe...no crime here!"

They really say this crap!
