Guanajuato, Mexico -- Gringos Taking Risks

Another thing which urps me to no end is the fact the the vast majority of Gringos take such stupid risks in Mexico.

We've heard stories through the years and they are getting worse.

Gringo tourists come to Guanajuato and for reasons certainly known to on the Divine, they think there cannot possibly be any danger here and will walk around at two in the morning and expect to be perfectly safe. Why do they do that here when they would not dare do it that in their home towns I cannot fathom.

One of the most hysterical cases were some American university girls, who, by the way, have terrible reputations here as loose, wanted to walk back at three in the morning to their B and B and expected to be absolutely safe.

They were relieved of their possessions by force.

Then they asked for their money back from the B and B.

Gringo expats, who should know better you would think, are getting robbed at gun point and even sexually assaulted.

Yes...SEXUALLY ASSAULTED.

And yet, over and over again they do here what they would never do on the streets of America, U.S.A.

Why.

I do not know. But, what I do know is that I have heard them say to my face they refuse to believe there is any danger here that could ever rival crime in America.

They are flatly wrong and will find out the hard way walking around Guanajuato in the middle of the night.
